MADEN Hotel (Medina, Saudi Arabia)

The hotel is roughly a two-minute stroll to Haram and on the same street as the main gate entrance. It's also nearby the ladies gate for ziyarah. Many small baqalas and shops are in the area as well. Basically, you can walk just about everywhere you want to go.

Parking seems secure and it's underground and free.

The buffet breakfast is satisfactory for the most part. Be sure to check-out the chef's omelettes if you like eggs.

You may be disappointed by the hotel's interior. It appears outdated and the five-star rating seems to be a mistake. It's possible your room will not be clean and won't get cleaned during your entire stay. It appears that housekeeping takes their time about fulfilling request to clean rooms. Hair and dirt in the sink and grimy carpets that haven't been hoovered, is not what you expect from a hotel with a high rating. Two-stars is probably the better evaluation.

The Wi-Fi connection is very poor. It appears to only be accessible in specific locations like the lobby or dining room. Forget your own room, it's nearly impossible to get a signal.

It's simply all around shoddy service from the personnel. There may be some good moments, but in most instances you may find the staff irresponsible, and unable or unwilling to answer the most mundane questions. If you are an English speaker, you may find communication difficult.
