Boa Vista is situated just 180 km from Maputo and 60 km from Xai Xai, which makes it an ideal weekend getaway destination. This nice waterfront town, in the old day known as San Martino is located right on the Uembje Lagoon which is 8 km wide and 27 km long with a depth of 50 metres at some places, but very shallow on the sides. You do not need a 4x4, as we have a good dirt road right to our doorstep. The lukewarm lagoon makes it so nice for children to play in and the beautiful white beach makes you think you are in Mauritius, Thailand or Greece but they dont have the wonderful rolling dunes that we have. It is quiet when it is out of season but busy on school holidays and long weekends.Boa Vista means nice view and it has a beautiful view over the lake and has some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world. Boa Vista offers ten beautiful grassy campsites with water and electricity, clean ablutions and a relaxing atmosphere. Local pubs and resorts in the area are just a short a walk away on the beach. Fresh fish and prawns are available daily from the locals; and if we say fresh we mean still alive. We are almost next to Villa Nbanga with their Babalaria pub which is a landmark in our area.Deep sea fishing and diving can be chartered from other resorts in the area. The Bilene lagoon, Uembje, is a salt water lagoon that runs roughly 27 km parallel to the Indian Ocean. Although the lagoon has a mouth that is always kept open for boat trips, a huge sandbar is what separates the lagoon and ocean. The lagoon's calm waters make it safe for swimming and ideal for a Booze cruize trips and trips per boat to the mouth can also be arranged.A variety of water sports, such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, wake boarding, jet skiing, kayaking and much more. But bring your own. Bring your own quad bikes because there is no quads or boats to rent.We are a small camping resort but will be building some chalets in the future: Our sites have electrical points and water points and is on Mozambique grass. We have 4 permanent Lodge tents available sleeping 4 with bathroom and fully equipped kitchen and braai area.1 tent with limited view, 2 tents with medium views and 1 tent with full view.
